My response to the Day 18 prompt from Bradley Ramsey’s The Halls of Pandemonium. This poem explores the concept of advancements in AI and technology, removing the necessity of the “process” — which used to be required in order to make something. Please enjoy <3
Lifeless.
I’ve heard stories of it,
The journeys creators would take
All for a piece of content.
Years of hard work,
Sweat and blood.
For something so small against
A landscape of ever growing
Shapes and bubbles.
Why bother putting pen to paper,
To exercise the mind.
When everything is a given,
If you’re willing to sacrifice your
Identity.
Hm… I wonder, so much lost,
To save it from this future.
Did we lose something,
Moving away from the process?
Is this why everything now
Feels… so lifeless?

Powerful words!
