Purple Rabbit
You and your bunny ears,
Low and serious, finally sharing the truth,
Coveted in pain, the lives you ruined,
The regrets haunting you, whispering:
“I don’t want to go.”
But the hug is tight, and you soften,
Your body transforms into acceptance,
The abstraction takes its hold,
Leaving you to linger, only one second,
“I don’t want to go.”
Those words, I still hear them,
And although the crew tries to heal,
I refuse to forget the pain you inflicted
On every version of who you were,
Unable to let go, unable to trust.
Oh Jax, what could’ve been, but
I am happy you found peace at last,
And your memory lives in the circus,
In the dark in which your beast finds calm,
Accepting the truth, one last time:
“I don’t want to go, but… I will.”
